Ocotillo Lakes

Chandler, AZ

Design for 95 acres of lakes within a mixed residential and commercial development featuring a 27-hole Ted Robinson signature golf course.

One of the first joint-use projects to combine effluent storage with stormwater runoff and water injection for groundwater recharge, Ocotillo uses aesthetic aquascapes, lakes and cascades as alternatives to the costly flood-control infrastructures typically constructed.  Featuring eight pump stations, cascades, waterfalls, golf-course lakes and aquascapes, the lake system allows for optimal peak storage of 20 mgd of treated effluent from the Chandler Wastewater Treatment Plant and also serves as a water-distribution basin for farms and other irrigation users.
