Ashley Pond Park Pond Renovation

Los Alamos, NM

PACE led the restoration of the 3-acre Ashley Pond Park in the Historic District of Los Alamos, New Mexico, to improve water quality and resolve stormwater drainage issues. The tranquil reflection pool was once flanked by the laboratories of the Manhattan Project. With significant historic value to the City of Los Alamos, the fully restored Ashley Pond serves as a center for community activities. The renovation design included adding a new waterfall, shoreline, liner, and circulation system, as well as water quality management systems to prevent the eutrophication and excess algal blooms that previously plagued the pond.
