Ashley Pond Park Pond Renovation

Los Alamos, NM

The 3-acre Ashley Pond Park is in the Historic District of Los Alamos, New Mexico and contains a tranquil reflection pool that was once flanked by the laboratories of the Manhattan Project. Mr. Sim led the restoration of the pond to provide increased water quality and resolve stormwater drainage issues. With significant historic value to Los Alamos, Ashley Pond was fully restored and presently serves as a center for community activities.  Renovation design included adding a new waterfall, new shoreline, new liner, new circulation system and water quality management systems to prevent eutrophication and excess algal blooms that previously plagued the pond.
