Description

PACE is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Programmer with specific experience designing, fabricating, programming, and commissioning electrical control systems using SCADA, PLCs, DCS, and industrial networking hardware to support our growing energy efficiency and sustainability group.

 

The Instrumentation and Controls Programmer will be supporting the design, fabrication, and deployment of controls and instrumentation in the following market sectors:

      1. Potable and Non-Potable Water Production, Storage & Distribution
      2. Water and Wastewater Treatment
      3. Pumping Facilities
      4. Cogeneration and Solar Power Production
      5. Water Quality and Environmental Monitoring
      6. Recreational Aquatic Facilities

Applicants shall have the following minimum experience:

      1. Minimum of 5 years of experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA system programming
      2. Minimum of 5 years of experience performing field start-up and troubleshooting of PLC, SCADA, Radio Network, and Field Instrumentation systems
      3. Specific skills needed:
          • Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word
          • Proficient in the development of P&IDs and associated I/O diagrams
          • Strong understanding of wiring schematics and field instrumentation field wiring
          • SCADA programs, including system graphic and database design for:
              • iFix
              • Wonderware
              • Ignition
              • Factory Talk View Studio
              • Citect
          • PLC hardware setup and programming, including:
              • Allen Bradley
              • Schneider Electric
              • Siemens
          • PLC programming software:
              • Rockwell Automation RSLogix5000 and Studio 5000
              • Unity Pro
              • Control Expert
              • Telepace Studio
          • HMI Programming Software
              • Factory Talk SE and ME

Preferences

The following skills are not required, but are highly desirable:

      1. Experience working with AutoCAD, PC networks, MS Windows, and Apple OS in an industrial environment
      2. Experience with water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping facilities, and water storage / conveyance systems

Physical Demand

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; color vision is very helpful. Occasional field work may be required and includes walking through uneven, rugged terrain, requiring good balance, ability to walk moderate to long distances, and good general vision and depth of field vision.

Work Environment

The noise level in the office work environment is moderate. May be required to work in external environment in all weather conditions.

Salary Range

$55,000 – $80,000. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and capabilities.
