Description

PACE is seeking an Electrical Engineer Assistant to perform electrical engineering design services for water and wastewater infrastructure including wells, pump stations, treatment facilities, power generation and communication systems in the following market sectors:

      1. Potable & Non-Potable Water Production, Storage & Distribution
      2. Water & Wastewater Treatment
      3. Pumping Facilities
      4. Cogeneration & Solar Power Production
      5. Recreational Aquatic Facilities
      6. Standby Power Generation

Responsibilities Include

      1. Perform electrical design, including plan preparation and writing specifications, for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
      2. Performing electrical calculations including, load calculations, voltage drops, short circuits, cable sizing, and conduit fill
      3. Understanding and development of One-Line diagrams, Control schematics, and other electrical drawings
      4. Perform arc flash, short circuit, and protective device coordination studies
      5. Interfacing and coordinating the electrical design with electrical utilities, project team and project client
      6. Conducting site visits for field surveying and/or providing engineering support in the field.

Preferred Skills

      1. CA Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T)
      2. Familiarity with power system applications, including calculation of available short circuit current, voltage drop, harmonic distortion, and power factor
      3. Field investigative and start-up experience
      4. Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 820 and NESC as they apply to water and wastewater infrastructure
      5. Familiarity with the IEEE color book series
      6. Excellent communication skills
      7. Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
      8. Have the ability to interact positively with team and project clients

Required Experience

      1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
      2. 0 – 3 years of experience working in Electrical Engineering

Physical Demand

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands, handle or feel; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.  The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; color vision is very helpful. Field work and travel with overnight stays may be required.

Work Environment

The noise level in the office work environment is moderate. The noise level in the field work environment will include working in and around operating machinery, exposed electrical systems and potentially dusty and dirty environments. The candidate may be required to work in external environments in all weather conditions.

Salary

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and capabilities.
