Sr. Electrical / Electrical Engineer

PACE is seeking a California Licensed Electrical Engineer (Experienced Engineer – Non-Management and Management Levels) to perform electrical engineering design services for water and wastewater infrastructure including wells, pump stations, treatment facilities, power generation, and communication systems in the following market sectors:

  • Potable & Non-Potable Water Production, Storage & Distribution
  • Water & Wastewater Treatment
  • Pumping Facilities
  • Cogeneration & Solar Power Production
  • Recreational Aquatic Facilities
  • Standby Power Generation

Responsibilities Include:

  • Managing the electrical design and plan preparation for water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Performing detailed electrical power system design for water and wastewater infrastructure with minimum supervision
  • Performing load calculations, detailed conduit routing, motor control center and switchgear design, and specification generation
  • Understanding of short circuit, protective device and coordination studies
  • Understanding and development of One-Line diagrams and Control schematics
  • Interfacing and coordinating the electrical design with electrical utilities, project team and project client
  • Conducting site visits to observe construction and operation

Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with power system applications, including calculation of available short circuit current, voltage drop, harmonic distortion, and power factor
  • Field investigative and start-up experience
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated knowledge application of NEC, NFPA 820 and NESC as they apply to water and wastewater infrastructure
  • Familiarity with the IEEE color book series
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting
  • Have the ability to interact positively with team and project clients
  • Follow CAD standards.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 5 to 10 years of experience working in Electrical Engineering
  • CA PE registration required

Physical Demand

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands, handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; color vision is very helpful. Occasional field work may be required and includes walking through uneven, rugged terrain, requiring good balance, ability to walk moderate to long distances, and good general vision and depth of field vision.

Work Environment

The noise level in the office work environment is moderate. May be required to work in external environment in all weather conditions. Driving to offsite locations for project meetings, job site visits, etc. may be required. Therefore, candidate must maintain reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and auto insurance while employed with PACE.

Competitive Salary commensurate with experience and capabilities. Salary range presented based on average needs and capabilities and competitive salaries at the time of posting. Salary offers may be higher or lower than posted based on position offered and associated responsibilities.
