ASCE OC Project Award Winner – Gibby Road Bridge

ASCE OC Project Award Winner – Gibby Road Bridge

Gibby Road Bridge was selected by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Orange County Branch to receive the Environmental Engineering Project Award. Rancho Mission Viejo led the project and team, consisting of PACE, GMU Geotechnical, and Parsons.PACE designed the bridge revetment which consisted of grouted rock and jet-grouted columns to limit scour and lateral erosion. The design approach overcame multiple constraints, both regulatory (environmental permitting/riparian protection) and physical (high groundwater, high sediment loads through the crossing, and flow/transport capacity continuity).
